Today I went to visit my extended family. My great uncle and aunt and cousins asked me to do some family photos of all four generations and I was more than happy to. I really have to thank my family for being so supportive of my dream to become a professional photographer. When I first decided to make photography more than just a hobby I was worried about how to find subjects for my portfolio...my family has been really great for allowing me to practice with them and for spreading the word about my new business:)

Matt and Donna engaged part 1!
My little sister is getting married!! I am so excited, and Matt is such an awesome guy.
For a few weeks now we have been talking about doing engagement shots. This is the first time that I have ever done an engagement shoot and I am really happy that I got to practice with my sister...if I can handle her I can handle any bride! J/K Donna, you aren't a bridezilla AT ALL;)
Donna is a bride who knows what she wants though...she's actually a photographer's dream. She had so many great ideas for this (of what will hopefully be many for my portfolio's sake, lol) photo shoot. She had seen some engagement photos on the Millie Holloman Photography blog and wanted to try the same thing with some heavy equipment at John Deere.
Lucky for us Matt works for John Deere in Cambridge and we went to visit him at work. He was right in the middle of working on a transmission of one of the machines (don't even ask me what it is called). He took a quick break and these are just a few of the shots we ended up with.

Little Miss Macey
I was so excited to meet sweet little Macey tonight. My sister's friend and co-worker had this beautiful little girl six weeks ago and I have been hearing all about how gorgeous she is. Let's just say Macey certainly lives up to the expectations. She is so dainty and has the most beautiful lips!

Martin Family
This afternoon I met up with my fantastic neighbours to do some family photos. I was so happy when Tara agreed to let me do these photos...she and Darren have beautiful children and I was excited to try some photos at the Walpole Antique Farm.
These children are so easy-going and were willing to climb anywhere for a photo... on a giant tire and half way up a tree!
The antique farm had some great spots for photos, and we didn't have to go very far from home:)

My baby girl started school today!
I walked my baby girl to school today for the first time!
It was such a bittersweet moment; I know she is ready and that she is excited to go to Junior Kindergarten, but I am going to miss her and worry about her so much.
Last night we tried to get her to bed early, but she kept coming out of her room saying she couldn't sleep...nerves, excitement?? Probably a little of both.
For months now Blake (my husband) and I have been telling her how much fun she will have and how many new things she will learn. I told her about my memories of kindergarten, which feel like they were only yesterday. I absolutely adored my teacher and made so many friends, some which I still have to this day even after moving to a new town at the end of elementary school.
Now I can't wait for 3 o'clock when I can pick her up and hear all about this day; one of the most important days of her 3 year and 11 month existence!

Fun family!
On Saturday I met up with a fantastic couple and their one-year old sweetheart at the park in Simcoe. I love this setting for family pics because of the big trees, bridge, and the water. The day turned out to be beautiful and the leaves were even starting to change a little.

Baby Darrius
On Thursday night I was asked by a good friend to photograph her great-nephew, 11 week-old Darrius. This little man is so handsome, and so loved by his mommy. We started the night with a few indoor natural light shots, and then snuck into the neighbours' yard for some outdoor photos.

2 1/2 Week Old Sweetheart
This gorgeous little girl was such a pleasure to photograph. At just over 2 weeks old, she was not willing to sleep much, but we still managed to get some great shots.
