Maternity Session

What a beautiful belly!
Thanks for coming out today Sarah, I had so much fun working with you.
Sarah is from Calgary, and since she was visiting, my cousin surprised her with a Maternity Mini-Session.
Her little guy is due July 8th, doesn't she look amazing?

Beautiful pregnancy {Hamilton Photographer}

What a seriously beautiful family.
Ally, Nick and their beautiful daughter came for a little visit today to have maternity photos done.
Ally and I attended high school together, and it was so wonderful see her again and expecting baby number two! I always find it amazing that to me we look exactly the same as we did in high school, lol! Even though we are married now, have children and real grown-up lives. It's almost as if it hasn't been 15 years since we began grade 9 (crazy, I know)
We started with some studio photos, and I am so happy with how they turned out. This is actually the first time I have done a studio session on my own.
Then, since the weather seemed to be co-operating, we drove to Port Dover to do some family photos on the beach.
Port Dover is an awesome place for photos. The atmosphere is perfect for capturing life as it happens.
I could have shot there all day, with the overcast skies lending perfect light to the day, but the rain began:(
Ally and Nick, thank you so much for allowing me to do these photos for you. I am looking forward to seeing your new little one in a few months!

Baby #2 is going to be named Cash (love it) and so Nick drew this money symbol on Ally's belly.
You are stunning Ally...

F'real.

I really enjoy studio work, but there is something so magical about capturing life in the moment.

Trying to contain my Asuka-ment!!

I worked such a long day today. An amazing interview at Kitchens N' Sync in Hagersville (now to talk Blake into a new kitchen and bathroom). Then on to website training for the newspaper I work for. Followed up with dinner at my mom and dad's house (they always feed my kids and I on nights when I have to work late, I seriously couldn't do ANYTHING without them), and then on to cover a few more story assignments for the newspaper.
I got home and at first walked right past the giant packing box on my table. I checked on my little guy, fast asleep, went in the bedroom where Blake and Aubrey were watching TV, and then came back out to the dining room to find...Oh my goodness!! My Asukabook album arrvied.
This album is the first I have created. I really wanted something that I could take with me to show clients when I meet with them. An album that doubles as a portfolio of my work as well as something I show clients that they can have made.
This thing is gorgeous! I am so pleased with how it turned out. I wasn't sure, since I have never designed and ordered one before, but I am so excited that it is here and it's perfect!
This is the outside case.
The back and front covers.

It even came with little white gloves:)

I have many more companies that I want to try out for albums, but I will definitely work with Asukabook again. And if anyone has had a photo shoot done with me and would like to have your photos displayed in a gorgeous keepsake album like this one, just send me an email and we can discuss what you would like.

Spring Mini-Sessions!

It has been a while now since I last offered a mini-session special. And since Mother's day and Father's Day are both right around the corner, I thought now we be a good time to offer one.
The spring Mini-Session will run from now until May 31.
If you book a mini-session between now and May 31, the cost is only $50, and you get five images on DVD, as well as an 8x10 of a photo of your choice from our session.
The photo shoot can be at any location of your choice, or in my studio, and takes about 30 minutes.
Call 519-587-5476, or email katiedawsonphotography@yahoo.ca for an appointment.

And since every post is better with a picture, here is one I took this weekend of my little munchkins having a pj party in the middle of the afternoon. Aubrey was trying to read him a story in the rocking chair, but if I have my camera out Brant just won't pay any attention to anything else. Little Ham, lol!!
And here is Aubrey painting using only a stick, mud and the guardrail at the end of our street. For such a girly girl, she loves playing in the mud.

Happy Spring Everyone:)

Mr. Darrius! {Ontario Children's Photographer}

This little man's mommy has been so wonderful to allow me to capture photos of his first year.
One of my very first photos shoots was of little Mr. Darrius, and I am so amazed at what a gorgeous little man he is becoming. His mommy is so in love with him! But who wouldn't be head-over-heels for those cheeks and big brown eyes??
At just about 10 months he is doing the army crawl, and is very busy.
I hope to see him again for his first birthday photos, hint hint Jaquie, lol!!

Mmmm, love those big brown eyes.
