Closed until February 2011

This past year has been amazing!
I have loved each and every one of the clients I have met; each wedding, each little baby, and each family.
I can't believe that it has only been a year and a few months since I took the plunge and started "Katie Dawson Photography."
The word of mouth has been incredible, and I am so appreciative to everyone who has chosen me to photograph their special moments.
I'll be taking time of from photography for the next several weeks. My baby boy is due any day now, and I'll be spending quality time with him, my older two children and my husband.
I'm also super pumped to start taking photos again in February. I am looking forward to some fun outdoor shoots in the snow.
During my time off, I will be answering emails and phone calls, but it might take me a day or two to get back to you.

All galleries are now viewable, and if you haven't received an email with your password, please contact me. Galleries will remain open until Dec. 31.

This is a little sweetheart who came over for my very last photo session of 2010.

I had the pleasure of photographing a wonderful family this morning. It was the perfect way to wrap up my season of outdoor photography. I'll be starting my maternity leave this week, after a few mini-sessions and a newborn shoot. I'll be back at it near the end of January and I can't wait!!
The Thomson family was so much fun, and I loved all the great ideas for places to shoot around Port Dover.

Awaiting baby #3

The countdown has begun, and I should be meeting my newest little one some time in the next 6 weeks.
This pregnancy is really starting to fly by now, and we have absolutely nothing ready!
In fact, I'm not sure I'm ready. The closer the day approaches, the more I think to myself "can I handle all this??"
I mean seriously, three children! And to start all over again with sleepless nights, a million diapers a day, all those extra loads of laundry??
As I was sitting today thinking of all I need to do to get ready for the baby I thought, jeez, I better get a few studio shots of my belly before it's too late.
So I put the camera in my hubby's hand, and tried to get the kids to co-operate (no such luck, lol).
Here is what we captured, and this is all we captured... I even bribed them with candy, ugh.

Brant actually loves kissing my belly. Even when I'm just sitting reading, he'll lift my shirt and kiss his baby.

We had Aubrey hold the material behind me. Usually this is the dad's job at a maternity shoot, but tonight dad was behind the camera.

Check out this adorable little man! He has such amazing blue eyes.

Rain, Rain Go Away

I was so looking forward to this morning's shoot with this wonderful family.
Shannon emailed me a few weeks ago and told me about her twin boys, and how she wanted outdoor family photos done.
I watched the weather all week, and it called for rain today. Then I woke up this morning and... it wasn't raining!! But then, the closer I got to Shannon and Kevin's home, the harder the rain fell.
We decided to go for it anyway. There was a barn that had some beautiful natural light coming through, and we were determined to have some fun. Normally I don't mind shooting in the rain, it can add something special. But when working with children under the age of two, rain just won't do.
Luckily, as we were playing around and taking some photos of the boys in the barn, it stopped raining. WooHoo!! We then drove just down the road to Shannon's parents' house, and hiked through the bush a little.
Here is just some of what we captured today.

Smiley little guy

I can't believe the weather we have had the past few days. It's November and I'm still shooting family sessions outdoors without the little ones getting red, runny noses, lol!!
I had the pleasure of meeting this beautiful family today. We did a few indoor Christmas shots, and then headed outside. The sun was perfect, but it certainly is setting quickly these days!!
Here is a sneak peak of just a few of my favourites:)
