Handsome little man

I had way too much fun today taking pictures of this little man. He is so cute, and was making the funniest faces. Mom and dad sure have their hands full!!
Thanks so much Breann for letting me take over your living room and for allowing B-boy to be my little model for the afternoon!

I had to add this...one of his funny face! lol!

Kitchen family

What a beautiful day! I am such a lucky person to have the chance to take pictures for beautiful families, just like the Kitchen family, in beautiful locations so close to my home.
We met at the Townsend Park today, and then headed over to the Walpole Antique Farm.
These two little ones were so much fun, and the weather was perfect. I still think it's unbelievable that we could spend a few hours outdoors in November without coats on!!
I hope you enjoy your sneak peak L and K, and I hope the kids have fun at the waterpark;)

Dj, Robyn and the ladies:)

On Saturday I met with DJ, Robyn and these three lovely ladies. We took photos at the Caledonia train station. I just love taking photos there. It doesn't look like a place that would make for great photos, but once the editing process begins, I am always amazed at how cool the pictures turn out.
Dj and Robyn are my neighbours in Jarvis, and I actually have known DJ since I was in grade seven and living in Caledonia...such a small world!

I hope you enjoy your sneak peak guys, your photos will be ready soon:)

Playing around

I have been having so much fun playing around with my new studio lights. I didn't think I would like doing studio work as much as I am. I think my favourite is still outdoor natural light photography...nature is truly beautiful and it is such a rush to find the prefect location!! But the studio photography is so much fun... not to mention warm and cozy and I don't get rained on:D.
I can't wait to do more, but for now here are some pics of my husband and kids playing around.

Smiley little guy {Haldimand Family Photographer}

I have always thought there is just something so special about little boys, and after meeting this little guy on Sunday, all my thoughts are once again confirmed.
Stephanie and Bill asked me to do family photos for them, and I could not wait to meet their little man. Right off the bat he was full of big smiles and giggles. We did photos at the Townsend Park, and boy it sure got cold fast, but little Mr. C didn't complain.

The Taylors

I must admit, when I was first asked to do family photos for friends of mine who have a two year old, all I could think about was how my daughter behaved at the age of 2. Terrible twos all the way. But not this little one. She was fantastic..sat where I asked her to, walked when I asked her to, even let me hold her baby doll so I could take photos. Wow, I was impressed!!

Dutcher family

I was so excited to meet this beautiful family today. We did photos at the Grand Trunk Station in Caledonia, and I am so happy we decided to go with this location. It is such a beautiful old train station and the kids seemed pretty excited to play on the trains. We even had a peek inside and Santa's Chair was there;)

I truly LOVE doing family photos, especially after meeting families like the Dutcher family.

New studio!!

I am so excited that I now have a studio in my home!! Thanks to the help of my wonderful hubby my home is now set up to do indoor photos. I thought I would try and convince my one-year old to sit still and let me try out my new lights and pocket wizards...and I actually managed to capture a few of my very busy little man.

Beautiful family

On Sunday I went to Hamilton to take family pictures for a good friend of mine. These kids are so adorable, and have the most beautiful eyes.
We went to the escarpment to do outdoor photos, and man it got cold quickly!! But the kids did great right up to the end.
Thank you so much Martin and Breann for choosing me to do family photos for you:)

So sweet! B-boy is seriously the cutest baby boy...I still can't decide if he looks more like his mom or dad, such a perfect mix of them both.

Such a gorgeous little girl!
I admit it! I am addicted to this shot...but I love to see how the kids react when mom and dad kiss, hehe:)

New website!

I am so happy and excited that I finally have my very own website.
At www.katiedawsonphotography.ca you can see my photo galleries, link to this blog, and find contact info and package details.
It has taken some time to put together, and there is still so much more to do, but I just couldn't wait any longer to launch it.

And since I can't post without a photo...here is one from a photo shoot I did yesterday.
Stay tuned for more photos of this gorgeous family!

School engagement session

On saturday I had a great time taking engagement photos of Matt and Donna. We went to the school where Donna, a teacher, works and did some really neat photos in her classroom.
I am so glad that my sister is a bride and comes up with great ideas like this for photos shoots!

So cute! The note says "Will you marry me, check YES or NO"
Obviously she checked YES!!!

The Makris family

Sunday was a cold day!! But these little troopers did absolutely wonderful at Springbank Park in London.
I am so glad we got this shoot in before it got too cold out...and the leaves were still beautiful!

It is so cute to see the kids' faces when you tell mom and dad to "kiss"!!

Beautiful family
So sweet:)
