Little Lauren was a doll for her photos today:) And such a typical little lady, she didn't want to get too messy when it was time to get into her cake. Too cute.

Winners from Prenatal Fair

Last night was so much fun at the Dunnville Prenatal Fair hosted by the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit. Although the turnout wasn't fabulous thanks to crappy weather, I still got to meet some awesome expectant moms and hear how excited they all are for their babies to arrive!
I held a contest at the fair, and the winners are going to get a free newborn session and 16x20 gallery wrap canvas!
So I randomly pulled a name this morning for the draw, and the winner is Chris Graham:)

My other contest is still open until April 25 at midnight. A $100 gift certificate is up for grabs!
All you have to do is leave a message on the Katie Dawson Photography Facebook Fanpage wall and you'll be entered. I'll announce the winner Tuesday morning.

Contest Announced!!

This Wednesday, April 20, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. there is going to be a prenatal fair at Dunnville Secondary School hosted by the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit.
I am going to have a booth set up and I'll be running a contest. All you have to do is come to the show, fill out a ballot and you are entered to win a complimentary Newborn Session and a 16x20 gallery wrap canvas of a photo from your session. I'll be announcing the winner of the Prenatal Fair contest on Thursday morning.
For those of you who can't make it to Dunnville on Wednesday, you can enter to win a contest too! All you have to do is "Like" my facebook fanpage, and say a quick hello on the wall!
If you are already a fan, just leave some kind words on the wall!
You can use the gift certificate for any session, for prints and products, whatever you want. You could even give it to mom as a Mother's Day gift.

Easter Pics of my kiddies

This past Friday I finally got around to buying my kids their Easter outfits. This was always such a big deal when I was little and it's something I do for my kids.
So of course, I had to head straight to Gymboree, my absolute favourite kids' clothing store. I love that I can buy pants, shirts, sweaters, jackets, shoes, even the socks and hair accessories, and have it all match perfectly. I definitely don't buy as much for the boys as I did for Aubrey when she was little, but for special occasions and for photos, it's my one stop shop.
I wanted to capture a few pics of the kids, and decided last minute on Saturday, since I had my studio set up anyway, that we should dress them up and grab a few shots. It's so funny to take their photos. Brant, my two year-old, is far too busy. He does much better outdoors. Trying to have him sit still is a challenge, but hilarious!
Aubrey is great, she is starting to really like hamming it up.
And then there is Gray. He's 15 weeks now, so we managed to get some cute ones before he was ready for a nap.
I highly recommend hiring a pro to do photos of your family. Even if you are a professional photographer, lol!  After Saturday, and trying (unsuccessfully) to get a family photo using a tripod and timer, I am even more excited for our family photos that we have booked for this summer.

One Year ~ Emily

Time certainly flies by! Emily is going to be one in a few weeks:) I loved how happy she was for her pictures yesterday.

Newborn ~ Ainsley

I'm so happy that I was asked to do this newborn session. I've been wanting to do more and more candid style sessions in the home using natural light. A perfect spring day and a perfect baby girl, who could ask for more? :)

Newborn ~ Thomas

I had a great time taking photos of little Thomas. I'm sure he had a fantastic sleep this afternoon considering he didn't sleep a wink during his session, lol!

This was our first photo of the day. I know, it looks like he's smiling, but really he's thinking "Ya right lady, I'm not falling asleep!" Too cute!

But if he had fallen asleep we wouldn't have been able to capture his gorgeous eyes:)

Newborn ~ Knox

My new little cousin! Kristy and Kris welcomed a beautiful baby boy to the world on March 22 (baby boy number two!!) Knox is now almost three weeks old, and he did an amazing job for his newborn session. I just love his soft hair, and his sweet little toes. I could have stayed and cuddled this munchkin all day! I can't wait to see him again:)
